Trust me when I say, don’t let the name fool you. When I came to eat at Malibu Farms in Seaport, NYC on a Saturday night, I was somewhat hesitant to go to a place that serves “Californian food”. Broccoli pizza, avocado on everything? I wasn’t at all expecting the amazing food we got!
Malibu Farms is a trendy eatery, nestled amidst the bustling skyscrapers and the frenetic energy of Wall Street. I think what’s so special about this place is its location. Located in Seaport and having stunning views of both the Brooklyn Bridge and the waters nearby, it is a lovely place to dine with a view!
What we Ordered
But now to the food! One of the standout features of Malibu Farms is its commitment to farm-to-table dining. They serve fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients on every dish. Even the juicy tomatoes to the crisp lettuce on the burgers taste like they’ve been carefully selected!
Speaking of which, they truly have the perfect burger. I ordered their Smashed Style Bacon Burger and MAN was it delicious! Malibu Farms has gained a reputation for serving one of the most mouthwatering burgers in the city and it truly deserves that title. Their burgers are a true testament to the art of grilling – juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. They come with candied bacon, chef’s aioli, cheddar, grilled onions, pickles, and roasted potatoes on the side (being Californian, there is also the option to add avocado LOL).
This burger is a bit on the sweet side, but having a massive sweet tooth I absolutely loved it! The bacon is crunchy and chewy, the cheddar is melted to perfection, the patty is juicy; overall: super scrumptious. Oh, and the potatoes were killer too! Super hot and fluffy on the inside!
Having been blown away by our entrees, and it being a Saturday, we decided to live a little and order dessert too. Malibu Farms boasts an impressive dessert menu, but one standout option is the Black Forest Cake. This classic dessert is given a modern twist here, with layers of rich chocolate cake, luscious vanilla chantilly, and cherries that burst with flavor. Super fudgy, moist, and bursting with cherry flavor, it’s the perfect ending to a delectable meal!
Malibu Farms truly knocked my socks off and exceeded by expectations! It’s a culinary gem that deserves a spot on your must-visit list (especially if you love a good burger)!
